The module can be out of the vehicle, but to reprogram a scan tool is needed. Most scan tools are capable of reprogramming if you have the proper leads, but be sure before buying.* This tool will also work with a J2534 ReProgramming adapter.

This is a clean power supply to power your ecm or any module you need to program. The power supply also powers the scan tool on the bench.

Some modules require a Bench Flash Proceedure to keep from corrupting the module.
